About Us

Rachel Smith, CPA
Hi, my name is Rachel Smith. I am a Certified Public Accountant with the heart of a small business owner. I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho and received my BA from the University of Chicago, where I studied humanities.
I came to accounting through a side door. Starting in 2006, I operated a small organic veggie farm in Chelan, Washington. This is where I cut my teeth on business ownership. I discovered that the part of the work that I really love is the business systems, planning, and management. While running the farm, I also took over the lease for Sunshine Farm Market, learning more about retail management, sales and marketing, and leading a team. I returned to school in 2013, earned a Graduate Certificate in Accounting, and earned my CPA.
I worked as an in-house accountant for several local wineries and orchards before starting Books on Point in 2017.
I have been an active member of the Chelan business community, volunteering over the years with the Historic Downtown Chelan Association, Bach Fest, Chelan Evening Farmers Market, and Chelan Earth Day. Other interests include cycling, gardening, and studying violin and piano with my two daughters.
I recently moved to East Wenatchee with my family, but my heart is still in Lake Chelan.

Rebecca Airmet
Rebecca Airmet (my older sister!) has been a bookkeeper for Books on Point since February 2020. After over twenty years in the editing business, she decided to try her hand at numbers and found she really enjoyed it. Her experience managing the monthly project cycle of an academic research journal and her experience as a self-employed editor has carried over well to bookkeeping. In editing, every word needs to be right; in bookkeeping, every number needs to be right.
Rebecca holds an honors BA in English from the University of Utah, is a certified HubDoc Expert, and is working on her Quickbooks Pro Advisor Certification. She is active in her local community, serving on the Capital Improvement Budget committee for the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota, which she now calls home.
Rebecca works remotely from St. Paul, where she spends her down-time knitting, spinning yarn, or riding her bicycle.

Josh Sorenson, EA
Joshua Sorenson joined Books on Point in September 2020. Josh graduated from Portland State University 2017 and earned his Enrolled Agent (EA) shortly afterwards, which enables him to represent taxpayers before the IRS. He is also a licensed tax consultant with the state of Oregon. In addition to tax law, he is passionate about working with small businesses in all aspects of accounting.
After leaving his hometown in Montana, Josh lived in many places across the Northwest before finally calling Portland, Oregon home and settling down to accounting. He has taken full advantage of PNW culture, from summiting Mt. Adams to participating in the Tour de Franzia, Portland’s annual Pedalpalooza bicycle ride. In his free time, Josh enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and road trips to the Pacific coast.
our specialties
who we serve
We operate 100% virtually. That means that we can serve clients located anywhere.
However, North Central Washington is our home and most of our clients are local to the area. It helps that we know the industries, the vendors, the economic climate, and, yes, lots of the people!
WINERIES
We specialize in bookkeeping for wineries. We can help you calculate the cost of your wine, track sales by channel, and wrangle your POS. We can also help you make a financial plan and track the metrics that matter most.
SMALL BUSINESSES
We help small businesses get off the ground and get their financial systems set up and running smoothly. Whether it’s setting up an LLC, hiring your first employee, or figuring out how to invoice your customers and get paid, we can help.
